Our herd is the heart of Jireh Hills Ranch. Each North American yak has a unique personality, from confident leaders to playful tricksters and gentle guardians. They bring curiosity, charm, and a little mischief to every day. Beyond their personalities, our yaks play an important role in stewarding our mountain land, grazing thoughtfully to help maintain healthy pastures. Through careful breeding, we’re proud to preserve the heritage yak and its remarkable genetics for future generations.

Stellar is majestic, confident and curious. He can be a bit reserved, but his gentle nature shines through in quiet moments (AKA as treat time). He has a strong presence and can be quite bossy at times.

Sissy is quiet and gentle, often seen with a toothy grin and always hoping a treat might be nearby. While she prefers her space, she’ll gladly accept a little affection, as long as it’s a gentle touch on the nose.

Chatty is gentle, soulful, and still finding his place in the herd. He has become a quiet guardian to CoCo and Maizey Love. With his beautiful eyes that seem to look straight into your soul and the curls framing his face, Chatty brings a tender strength and unmistakable charm to our ranch.

CoCo is known as the herd’s resident treat monster always on the lookout for a treat. She’ll give you a big lick and ignore personal space just to get that treat. With her playful personality and love for a good booty scratch, CoCo brings joy, laughter, and plenty of charm.
